SSU interrogates russian sailor who joined infantry after unsuccessful rescue of Moskva cruiser

The occupier has taken part in an attempt to save the flagship of the russian Black Sea fleet in April and did not particularly like the idea of dying at sea on another ship.

«There were a lot of corpses and, mostly, the rescue was very saddening. The ship was lost, it sank, we couldn’t tow it… I’ve seen enough of what was happening on Moskva [cruiser] and did not want to see one dying in the middle of the sea. It’s very scary. And I refused… «former sailor explains.

So he «retrained' as an infantryman to fight in Ukraine. During three weeks of training, Wagner [PMC] instructors helped him to «change his profile.' And soon he was sent on a reconnaissance mission in Volnovakha district.

The first combat mission turned out to be a failure: the «scouts' were ambushed by Ukrainian Armed Forces and only three of the 30 occupiers managed to survive. Russian commanders abandoned their wounded comrades on the battlefield.

He received first medical aid from the soldiers of Ukrainian Armed Forces, who took him prisoner.

Now he is alive and says he regrets having taken part in the war: «We are not liberating anyone, only capturing. We are looting, this is a terrible war,' the invader shares his belated insight.
